About Sharon

In 2003, out of curiosity, I attended the world's largest dulcimer fest held in Evart, MI. Being deeply intrigued, learning to play the dulcimer became a goal that was reached the following year. Teaching privately and performing for several music festivals was the next natural step.  I've enjoyed sharing the stage with national dulcimer champions. It's been an honor to be featured in musicians' CDs, weddings, art exhibits and community events.

What can I say? Music just makes people smile through the thrill of a great foot stompin' Celtic tunes, fiddle tunes or the essence of a soft memory from an elegant waltz.

Lessons for pre-beginner to advanced students are offered in 3 locations:

ON-LINE, and in my DEXTER and CHELSEA STUDIOS.  Private and group lessons, workshops and jam sessions are available.

With a Masters in Education, I've enjoyed teaching music to those from age 3 to over 100 (really)!  What a delight to see smiles from all ages! Learning music as a young child significantly helps learning music as an adult. Though, teaching an adult with no music background is thrilling as I help to open a new world of joy from undiscovered student ability.
